There are two ways to get to the resort.
Public transport
If the starting point of your route is Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa or Dnipro, the best option is to take a train to Ivano-Frankivsk and then a bus to Bukovel. You can also take a train to Lviv, but keep in mind that buses run more frequently from Ivano-Frankivsk. The distance from Bukovel to Ivano-Frankivsk is only 110 km.
Car
If you are planning to get to the resort by car, it is better to choose the Ivano-Frankivsk direction, provided you are not traveling from Uzhhorod or Chernivtsi. Your route will go through Yaremche, the villages of Mykulychyn and Tatariv. This way you will reach your destination.
Snowboarding and skiing slopes and lifts
You can be sure that if you choose Bukovel, your skiing will be bright and unforgettable. Because there are as many as 66 trails of varying difficulty levels, from “blue” for beginners to “black” for highly skilled athletes. All of them are conveniently located close to hotels, restaurants, cafes and other infrastructure facilities. The altitudes on the resort’s pistes range from 40 to 380 meters. Bukovel’s longest piste is 2,132 m, and the total length of all the pistes is over 60 km.
You can use the slopes and lifts with a single ski pass. It is easy to purchase on site or order online. Ski passes are available for a day, two days, a week or another period depending on the length of your holiday.
The ski resort also offers the possibility of renting a snowmobile to get to the top of the mountains, where the “black” skiing routes are located. This creates a unique connection with nature and allows you to escape from the bustling city life and get a vivid impression of the steep slopes.
The resort has the following lifts:
- 11 quadruple;
- 1 three-seater;
- 1 double lift;
- 1 drag lift;
- 2 multi-lifts, which are most often used by beginners and children.
This season, the ski lifts operate in two modes. Daytime snowboarding and skiing is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and evening skiing from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Those who do not have their own ski equipment can rent skis, helmets, snowmobiles, skiboards, snow tubes and other equipment at fairly reasonable prices.
Beginners who are not confident on the slopes can attend a ski school. Experienced instructors will put you on skis in a few lessons.
In addition, Bukovel offers ice skating. There is a large skating rink with reasonable prices in the center of town.
The resort attracts visitors at any time of the year. You can monitor the weather conditions and the number of holidaymakers at the resort using a webcam service. They are also useful for orientation on the slopes of this ski resort. Webcams make it easy to determine the size of the queue at the ski lifts.
